Derrick Frazier
Derrick Lothair Frazier (born April 29, 1970) is a former American football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies and was drafted in 1993 in the third round (75th overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles, a pick the Eagles acquired from the Houston Oilers in a trade.
Frazier played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1993 to 1995. He signed two one-year contracts with the team in July 1993, but injured his right knee in the American Bowl in Tokyo on July 31 and was placed on injured reserve on August 24. In 1994 he appeared in 12 games, recording a fumble recovery and three tackles. In 1995 he had 26 tackles and one interception as he was expected to start at cornerback after Eric Allen’s departure. After the 1995 season, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts. In 1996 he broke his right arm early in the season, started four games and had 13 tackles, then was waived in December and signed by the Dallas Cowboys. He also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams in 1998 as an offseason/practice squad member.
After his playing career, Frazier and Quentin Coryatt started Controversy, a men’s lifestyle magazine, in 2002. He was married to Candice Manning, with two daughters, including Tia Frazier; he is now married to Leslee Frazier and has one son and three stepsons. He coaches high school football in Gilbert, Arizona.
