Manx Peak is a mountain in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It stands 3,044 metres (9,987 feet) tall and rises about 374 metres above the surrounding land. The peak is in the Trident Range of the Canadian Rockies, about 14 kilometres north-northeast of the town of Jasper. Circus Valley is to the south and Whistlers Creek valley lies to the northeast, with the peak overlooking that valley. The nearest higher peaks are Mount Estella, 1.8 kilometres to the southwest, and Terminal Mountain, 2.0 kilometres to the east. Manx Peak is made of very old sedimentary rock from Precambrian to Jurassic times, pushed east over younger rock during the Laramide orogeny. It was named in 1916 by Morrison P. Bridgland because its contours resemble the triskelion on the Isle of Man flag. The first ascent was in 1919 by R.T. Chamberlin and B. Herzberg, and the name was officially adopted in 1951. The mountain has a subarctic climate, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers. Winter temperatures can drop below −20 °C, with wind chills below −30 °C. Water from the peak drains into tributaries of the Athabasca River.
