Klaus Heidegger
Klaus Heidegger, born 19 August 1957 in Götzens, Austria, is a former alpine skier who competed on the World Cup circuit from 1978 to 1986. He won five World Cup races and had 14 podium finishes, mainly in slalom and giant slalom. His wins came in 1977 at Garmisch-Partenkirchen (giant slalom), Furano (slalom) and Voss (giant slalom), and in 1978 at Wengen (slalom) and Kitzbühel (slalom). He finished second overall in the 1977 World Cup standings behind Ingemar Stenmark.
After retiring, Heidegger became co-president of Kiehl's, the American cosmetics company that L'Oreal bought around 2000 for about $100–150 million. He also co-founded Masai Group International, the MBT footwear company, which received investment from Berkshire Partners in 2007. He is married to Jami Morse Heidegger, and their son Max plays professional basketball in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
