Kormac Valdebenito
Kormac Sidney Valdebenito Gómez (born 1 February 1982) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He was born in Valdivia and joined Universidad Católica’s youth system in 1995 after scout Jorge Alvial saw him in a local tournament called Mundialito. He reached the first team in 2001 under coach Juvenal Olmos and helped Católica win the 2002 Apertura.
In Chile, Valdebenito also played for Deportes Melipilla, Deportes Puerto Montt, and Unión Española. Abroad, he played in the United States for the Virginia Beach Mariners and in Puerto Rico for the Islanders, with both moves encouraged by Alvial.
Valdebenito represented Chile at the under-17 level, participating in the 1999 South American Championship.
After retiring as a player, he trained to be a football manager at INAF (National Football Institute) and became a football agent, representing players such as Felipe Jaramillo, Jean Beausejour, Marco Estrada, and Carlos Carmona. In 2010 he worked as a Sport Manager for Sportverein Jugendland Fussball in Peñaflor, Chile (Chilean Tercera B), under coach Eduardo Bonvallet.
