M57 (Johannesburg)
The M57 is a major north–south metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg. It runs from Primrose (north of Germiston) to Waterkloof in Pretoria, linking Germiston with the southeast suburbs of Pretoria via Kempton Park and Olifantsfontein. For much of its length it serves as an alternative to the R21 freeway.
Starting at a junction with the R29 and M37 in Primrose, the M57 heads northeast as Pretoria Road, meets the M39, and crosses the N12 (as Ntemi Ncwane Road). It briefly joins the M44 before turning north as Jet Park Road through Jet Park. It reaches Griffiths Road (M41) and continues north past Isando toward the OR Tambo area, where it connects with M99 for airport access. The route enters Kempton Park, runs through the CBD, and intersects M32; after a short co-sign with M32 it continues north, crossing M90 and M45 and M43 as it leaves Kempton Park.
It then passes through Clayville, moves into Tshwane, and crosses the R21 again at Irene on a flyover. It continues through Rietvallei Park and Elardus Park as Boeing Street and ends at the M10 Solomon Mahlangu Drive in Waterkloof, Pretoria.
