Nils Nilsson Skaar (1852–1948) was a Norwegian teacher, farmer, editor, and politician from Fyksesund in Kvam, Hordaland. He grew up on the Botnen farm; his father, also named Nils Nilsson Skaar, was a mayor and member of Parliament, and his uncle Johannes Skaar was a bishop and hymn writer. Skaar served as mayor for 20 years and spent a total of 15 years in the Norwegian Parliament, representing Søndre Bergenhus (1886–1894) and Hardanger (1910–1915), with participation in two other sessions. He belonged to the Liberal Party and worked on budget and constitution committees in Parliament. He also ran the newspaper Hordaland Folkeblad. Additionally, he was county auditor from 1898 to 1910 and attended the 1906 coronation of King Haakon VII and Queen Maud in Trondheim.
