Veranópolis Esporte Clube Recreativo e Cultural
Veranópolis Esporte Clube Recreativo e Cultural, usually called Veranópolis (VEC), is a Brazilian football club from Veranópolis, Rio Grande do Sul. They compete in Campeonato Gaúcho Série A2, the second tier of the Rio Grande do Sul state league. The club was founded on January 15, 1992, when two local clubs, Dalban and Veranense, merged. In 1993, led by manager Tite, Veranópolis won the Campeonato Gaúcho Série A2. In 2007, under coach Paulo Porto, they reached the Gaúcho semifinals, losing to Juventude of Caxias do Sul. The team’s colors are blue, green, red, yellow and white, earning them the nickname Pentacolor (five colors). The home stadium is Antônio David Farina, in the Medianeira neighborhood, with a capacity of 8,000. The club’s president is Gilberto Generosi and the head coach is Sananduva.
