Linda Green is a British comedy-drama TV series that aired on BBC One from 30 October 2001 to 17 December 2002. It was produced for the BBC by Red Production Company. The show was created by Paul Abbott, with episodes written by Danny Brocklehurst, Catherine Johnson and Russell T Davies. The producer was Phil Collinson.

Plot
The series follows Linda Green, a 30-something woman who works as a car salesperson by day and sings in a club at night. It centers on her love life, friendships and family. Her friends include Jimmy McKenzie, a mechanic; Michelle Fenton, a chiropodist; and Darren Alexander, a kitchen-fitter who live with their own children. Linda’s family features her mother Iris, father Frank, and her younger siblings Katie and Philip (Fizz). A former boyfriend, Ricky Pinder, also appears in the show.

Cast
Linda Green stars Liza Tarbuck as Linda Green. Other regulars include Sean Gallagher as Jimmy McKenzie, Claire Rushbrook as Michelle Fenton, Daniel Ryan as Darren Alexander, Rachel Davies as Iris, Dave Hill as Frank, Jessica Harris as Katie, and Bruno Langley as Philip (Fizz). The show also featured many guest stars, such as Christopher Eccleston, David Morrissey, Simon Pegg, Pam Ferris, Anne Reid, Amelia Bullmore, George Costigan, Jamie Theakston, Martin Freeman, Peter Kay, Nicholas Gleaves, Maxine Peake, Meera Syal and Mark Benton. Liza Tarbuck’s father, Jimmy Tarbuck, appeared as Vic Green in one episode.

Renewal
The show was popular in its first season but less so in its second, and it was not renewed after the second series. The second series has never been released on DVD.
