Mountain Koiali is a language spoken in the Oro and Central Provinces of Papua New Guinea. It is part of the Trans-New Guinea language family, within Koiarian, and it is not very similar to Grass Koiari, the other language with a similar name. About 4,000 people spoke Mountain Koiali around 2000, while the related Biage language had about 1,100 speakers. About half of Mountain Koiali speakers are monolingual. It is spoken in Barai and Efogi villages, and in Koiari Rural LLG and Hiri Rural LLG. ISO codes are kpx for Mountain Koiali and bdf for Biage; Glottolog code is moun1252.
