The L&YR Class 30 (Hughes) was a group of heavy freight steam locomotives built for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. Designed by George Hughes, they entered service from 1910 to 1918. In total 69 locomotives were produced: 29 were rebuilds of Aspinall’s L&YR Class 30 and 40 were new engines. They were 0-8-0 freight locomotives, built for pulling large loads.

In 1923 the locomotives passed to the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS), which classified them as LMS 6F. When British Railways was formed in 1948, 11 of these engines were still in service and were renumbered in the range 52782–52839. The first locomotive of the class was withdrawn in 1927 and the last in 1951; none were preserved.
