Märten Metsaviir (born 15 March 1994 in Tallinn, Estonia) is an Estonian actor who became well known in 2022 for playing Melchior Wakenstede in the Melchior the Apothecary film trilogy, based on Indrek Hargla’s medieval mystery novels.

He grew up in Tallinn and finished Tallinn Secondary School No. 32. He studied acting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, graduating in 2020. For his diploma, he played The Little Prince and The Doctor in a production of Children of the Sun. In 2019 he also voiced minor roles in the animated film Lotte and the Lost Dragons.

In January 2021 he joined the Estonian Drama Theatre in Tallinn. His stage work includes Tomas Egerman in Private Confessions, Ragnar Solness in The Master Builder, Dom McGuire in The Loves of Cass McGuire, and Michael in Skellig.

In 2020 he was cast as Melchior Wakenstede in Melchior the Apothecary, directed by Elmo Nüganen. The film was released in April 2022 and started a trilogy, followed by The Ghost in August 2022 and The Executioner’s Daughter in April 2023. The films also star Maarja Johanna Mägi and Alo Kõrve.

In 2023 Metsaviir joined the main cast of the TV3 series Kättemaksukontor as Madis Toor. He has done voice acting for Estonian dubs, including Endlings and Draw With Will. He lives in Tallinn and has a daughter. He is a kart racing fan and is a former racer and footballer.
