Just a Ride
Just a Ride is Jem's second single from her debut album Finally Woken. It was released on June 13, 2005. The song is pop, written by Jem and Mike Caren, and produced by Jem, Yoad Nevo, and Ge-ology. It was released on ATO Records and Crazy Wise Music.
The track also appears on soundtracks: Music from the OC: Mix 1, Monster-in-Law (2005), and The Prince and Me (2004).
Music video: It opens with a boy skateboarding and knocking over a garbage can. Jem leaves home with boxes, slips on the trash, and appears to fall into a pool, where she begins singing. The video also shows a woman reading a book as a butler brings a drink, a man spilling the drink on her, Jem changing clothes, a taxi ride, and a confrontation. The pool scene returns, but it’s revealed she only fell to the ground and is helped up by a man.
