Gemel Peaks
Gemel Peaks are two peaks on Fildes Peninsula, King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands. They lie about 1.3 nautical miles (2.4 km) northeast of Horatio Stump. In 1935, Discovery Investigations crews on the Discovery II charted them and called them Twin Peak (or Twin Peaks). To avoid duplicate naming, the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee renamed them Gemel Peaks in 1960; "gemel" means twin.
