Jukka Mikkola

Jukka Mikkola (3 July 1943 – 23 March 2018) was a Finnish Social Democratic politician and lawyer (Master of Laws). Born in Vampula, he was active in Turku politics. He served in the Finnish Parliament from 1983 to 1986 and again from 1995 to 2003. In 1999 he was briefly Speaker of Parliament, and he then served as the second deputy speaker for the remainder of the 1999–2003 term. After leaving Parliament, he continued in Turku municipal politics. He retired from politics in 2016 due to health reasons and died in Turku after a long illness on 23 March 2018, aged 74.
