Doto ostenta
Doto ostenta is a small sea slug (a nudibranch) in the Dotidae family. It was first described from southeastern Australia and is found in Victoria and New South Wales, from the shallow waters down to about 85 meters deep. The animal is transparent white with scattered black spots on its back and sides. Its cerata (the finger-like projections) have moderately long bumps, each tipped with a black spot, and the digestive gland inside the cerata is pink-cream. Doto ostenta lives on hydroids and probably feeds on them.
