Jon Wright (Jonathan Wright) (30 January 1925 – 22 February 2015) was an English footballer who played as an inside forward. He played in the English Football League for Darlington, making 17 league appearances (0 goals) between 1947 and 1949. Wright’s first-team debut came on 1 March 1947, when he stood in for Charlie Stubbs at inside right in a 4–1 win over Rochdale, and he added three more appearances that season. He then had a run of 11 appearances late in the following season, with his last first-team match coming in September 1948. He later played in the North-Eastern League for Horden Colliery Welfare. Wright was born in Newburn, Northumberland, and died in Durham, England, aged 90.
