Disonycha glabrata
Disonycha glabrata, the pigweed flea beetle, is a striped beetle in the leaf beetle family (Chrysomelidae). It feeds on pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus) and lays eggs in the plant. The larvae develop through three instars: first instar about 3.6 days, second about 2.6 days, and the third about 2.9 days, with roughly 13.5 days spent in the soil during this stage. Binomial name Disonycha glabrata (Fabricius, 1775).
