1985 Westmeath County Council election
An election for Westmeath County Council was held on 20 June 1985 as part of the Irish local elections. All 23 council seats were contested from five local electoral areas using proportional representation by single transferable vote (PR-STV). The five-year term was later extended to 1991.
Results:
- Fianna Fáil: 13 seats (up 3) — remained in control of the council
- Fine Gael: 5 seats (down 4)
- Labour: 3 seats (no change)
- Independents: 2 seats (up 1)
Total: 23 seats.
