Jazz on the Ave Music Festival
Jazz on the Ave is an annual jazz festival on Cecil B. Moore Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It began in 2006 and is organized by Beech Community Services. The festival features jazz, soul, Gospel, R&B, and some modern urban music. There are two live stages along the avenue: the main stage at Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, and the Philly Soul Stock stage at 17th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. North Philadelphia once had many jazz venues on Cecil B. Moore Avenue (formerly Columbia Avenue), which helped the area earn the nickname Jump Street. The festival is run by Beech Community Services with help from partners, volunteers, and local residents, and is hosted by local radio and TV personalities. In addition to music, it showcases local vendors, visual artists, crafts, and food.
