Lucerne, Washington is an unincorporated community in Chelan County, in the state of Washington, United States. Its ZIP code is 98816. A post office operated there from 1909 to 1930. The community was named after Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, the homeland of an early settler.
Geography:
Lucerne sits on the shore of Lake Chelan at the mouth of Railroad Creek, about 1,109 feet above sea level. The surrounding area is rugged and mountainous, with steep slopes rising more than 4,000 feet above the lake nearby. It is located inside Wenatchee National Forest. There are two boat-in campgrounds in Lucerne run by the U.S. Forest Service. There is no road access into Lucerne; a ferry links the community to Stehekin at the lake’s northern end and to Chelan at the southern end.
