Invesco QQQ Trust, Series 1, known as QQQ, is an exchange-traded fund that tracks the Nasdaq-100 index. It started trading in 1999. During the dot-com crash, its price fell by more than 80%. The ticker briefly changed to QQQQ in 2004 and then back to QQQ in 2011. It reached a record high on June 4, 2020. Invesco also offers related funds, such as QQQM, which has a lower share price and targets retail investors. In July 2023, QQQ had inflows of about $5.3 billion. In August 2023, Scion Asset Management, run by Michael Burry, announced a bet against QQQ. By August 2023, the fund had about $200 billion in assets, with top holdings including Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. The fund charges a 0.20% annual fee to investors, with a portion of the fee used for advertising.
