Horaglanis populi is a small, eyeless, colorless catfish found only in wells and underground waterways around Pathanamthitta District in Kerala, India. It breathes air and belongs to the Clariidae family. The fish has an elongated body with a round front section and a large head without eyes. Its head features a wide mouth, a short snout, and four pairs of barbels: two on the lower jaw, one pair near the nose, and one pair on the upper jaw.

The name populi comes from Latin for "people," honoring residents of Kerala who helped document groundwater biodiversity and the discovery of this species.
