Mojo (Ash Grunwald album)
Mojo is the ninth studio album by Australian blues musician Ash Grunwald. It’s his first release with Bloodlines Music, the label he joined in 2019. The album came out on 30 August 2019 and peaked at number 40 on the ARIA charts. It was recorded in Los Angeles and Australia and produced by Brian Brinkerhoff, Carla Olson, George Carpenter and Ash Grunwald.
Grunwald describes Mojo as a five-year journey through a valley of darkness to brighter optimism, calling it his life's work up to this point.
Critics noted its Chicago blues influence and strong guitar work. Forte Magazine’s Thom Devereux praised the vibrant solos and the mix of guest appearances that add variety without straying from the style. Stack Magazine’s Jeff Jenkins said the record features an all-star cast, but Grunwald’s deep, soulful tone remains the star.
