The Danyang Woo clan is a Korean clan with its Bon-gwan in Danyang County, North Chungcheong Province. In 2015, it had about 191,287 members. The founder is U Hyŏn (918–1035), who is said to be descended from Yu the Great, though this is not proven due to scarce records. U Hyŏn served in the Goryeo era and married Shin Sung-gyeom’s youngest daughter, producing Woo Shin (939–1066).

In the 13th century, a sixth-generation descendant, Woo Jung-dae, reached high office and formally established the Danyang Woo clan. The line included figures such as Woo Cheon-gyu (eldest son), whose daughter became Queen Jeongan; Woo Cheon-gye; and Woo Cheon-seok. Woo Cheon-gyu’s son Woo Tak died with the rank Seonggyunjwaeju. Woo Cheon-seok’s great-grandson Woo Hyeon-bo (1333–1400) was given the title Internal Princess Danyang, and his daughter was Royal Consort Hyegyeong. Woo Hyeon-bo’s grandson Woo Seong-beom became the father of King Gongyang. Another descendant, Woo In-yeol (1337–1403), was honored for helping found Joseon and reached a high official rank. The Danyang Woo clan produced 35 people who passed the civil service exams during the Joseon Dynasty.
