Hewitt, Marathon County, Wisconsin
Hewitt is a small town in Marathon County, Wisconsin. It was founded in 1894 and is part of the Wausau metropolitan area. The town had 606 people at the 2010 census. The nearby community of Glandon is located within Hewitt. The town covers 43.4 square miles, all land.
In 2000, 545 people lived in 195 households and 158 families. The population was mostly White, with a few people of other races. The average household had about 2.8 people and the average family about 3.1. About one-third of households had children under 18, most were married couples, and around 13% of households consisted of a single person.
The median age was 39 years. There were roughly 114 males for every 100 females overall.
Income levels were modest: the median household income was about $51,000, and the median family income was about $55,000. Males earned around $33,200 versus $26,600 for females. The per-person income was about $20,155. A small share of residents lived in poverty, including none under 18 and about 8% of those 65 or older.
