Chloe Gilliland
Chloe Gilliland, born Chloe Sims on 25 August 1990 in Toowoomba, Australia, is a former Australian artistic gymnast. She won the all-around at the 2005 Australian junior championships and, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, claimed the all-around title and helped Australia win the team event. This made her a double Commonwealth champion.
She made her senior international debut at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. In 2007, she was part of the Australian team at the World Championships in Stuttgart, where the team finished 11th, earning Australia a top-12 finish that qualified the team for the 2008 Olympic Games. She later withdrew from the national team and did not pursue the Olympic spot.
Chloe trained at the Moreton Bay College centre of excellence and remained a national team member during her career. In 2020, she spoke out about a toxic culture within Australia’s elite gymnastics program.
Her other notable results include a fourth-place finish on uneven bars at the Shanghai World Cup in 2006. In 2007 she won bronze all-around, silver on vault, and bronze on uneven bars at the Australian Championships, and she also claimed gold at an International Apparatus Challenge against China.
