Alta Sierra, Kern County, California
Alta Sierra is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Kern County, California, United States. It sits about 8.5 miles east of Glennville, in the Greenhorn Mountains in the Sierra Nevada foothills, at an elevation of roughly 5,700 feet. The area covers about 1.0 square mile, all land, and had a population of 103 in the 2020 census (about 100 people per square mile). The coordinates are 35°43′45.38″N 118°32′57.57″W. It is in the Pacific Time Zone (UTC-8, UTC-7 during daylight saving). Alta Sierra first appeared as a CDP in the 2020 census. GNIS feature ID 2804107.
