Heritage High School (Brentwood, California)

Heritage High School is a public high school in Brentwood, California. It opened on August 1, 2005, with freshmen and sophomores and added the other grades in the following years. It is part of the Liberty Union High School District. The principal is Casey Lewis, and the school has about 115 full-time teachers. Heritage serves grades 9–12 with around 2,641 students (2023–24) and a student–teacher ratio of about 23:1. The school colors are Columbia blue, gold, and white, and the mascot is the Patriot. The teams are called the Patriots, and they compete in the Bay Valley Athletic League. The school newspaper is the Heritage Star Ledger.

The campus features a theatre, recording studio, and a broadcast studio with a green screen, plus large TVs in classrooms. Heritage is organized into five Small Learning Communities: A1, A2, B, C, and D. A1 and D opened first; B joined in the second year, C was used for physical education, and by 2007 all had started to operate. The first graduating class was in 2008, and the Class of 2009 was the first to attend all four years at Heritage. In 2012, the school banned social media in campaigns, and more than 50 students were suspended for a lamb-prank involving washable paint. In 2013, many people needed medical treatment due to extreme heat at graduation. In 2014, the school launched an art-and-technology program. In 2023, Heritage started a girls’ flag football program.
