What's Missing (band)
What’s Missing was a rock band from Morgantown, West Virginia, active from 2013 to 2023. They played a mix of alternative rock, indie rock, and power pop, with a grungy, raspy pop-punk sound inspired by Green Day, Balance and Composure, and Rozwell Kid. The band formed in 2013 when singer/guitarist Zane Miller, guitarist Aaron New, and drummer Matt Herrald started playing together while Miller and New were students at West Virginia University. New left the band in late 2018 and later started Great Comet; the final lineup included bassist Brian Spragg and guitarist Geoff Minnear.
What’s Missing released two EPs, Under (2015) and Shortly Thereafter (2017), plus several singles. In 2016 they released the single Threadbare, with proceeds donated to victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. The 2017 EP Shortly Thereafter was produced by Spragg and mixed by Mat Kerekes of Citizen. The band dissolved in late 2023 after almost a decade of activity. They also performed live, including a show in Cleveland in 2017.
