Gold Coast is a 1977 compilation album by John Coltrane and Wilbur Harden, released by Savoy Records (SJL 1115). It collects tracks recorded on May 13 and June 24, 1958 at Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, from the sessions that produced Tanganyika Strut and Jazz Way Out. The album features Coltrane, Harden on flugelhorn, and trombonist Curtis Fuller, with Harden and Fuller contributing two originals each. AllMusic reviewer Scott Yanow says the music is enjoyable but not very innovative, noting that despite Africa-themed titles, it’s mainly American bebop.
