Odin Township is a rural area in Marion County, Illinois. It covers about 18 square miles (46.8 km2), with most of that being land and only a small amount of water. The population was 1,722 at the 2010 census and about 1,654 in 2016, with around 735 housing units. The township was first settled in 1827. U.S. Route 50 runs east–west through Odin Township, and the city of Odin lies in its eastern part. Before 1896, Odin Township included the area now known as Sandoval Township.
