Glycerate 2-kinase

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Glycerate 2-kinase is an enzyme that transfers a phosphate from ATP to D-glycerate, producing 2-phosphoglycerate (ATP + D-glycerate → ADP + 2-phosphoglycerate). Its systematic name is ATP:D-glycerate 2-phosphotransferase. It is a key enzyme in the nonphosphorylative Entner-Doudoroff pathway used by some archaea.
