Fort Clifton (Kansas)
Fort Clifton was a small fort in Kansas, built in August 1862 by local settlers to protect themselves from attacks during the Civil War era. It stood near the old Clifton site, west of the present town of Clifton at the border of Clay and Washington Counties. The fort was occupied until 1863.
