Farshad Bashir (born 14 January 1988 in Kabul) is a Dutch politician of Afghan descent. He was a member of the Socialist Party and served in the Dutch Parliament from 2008 to 2017, focusing on taxation, transport, and water management.

His family fled Afghanistan in 1996 after the Taliban took over, moving first to Tajikistan and then to the Netherlands in 1997, where they were granted asylum. He grew up in Mantgum, Friesland. Bashir joined the Socialist Party and its youth wing ROOD in 2002. He was elected to the Leeuwarden city council in 2006 and served there until January 2008. In January 2008 he became a member of the House of Representatives, succeeding Rosita van Gijlswijk, and was the youngest Dutch MP at the time. His term ended in March 2017.

Bashir refused to swear loyalty to the future king, Willem-Alexander, saying he is a republican and opposes the monarchy. He studied mathematics and physics at the University of Groningen and tax law at Leiden University. His father was a journalist for the daily Anis during the communist era.
