Union Omaha 2024 season recap
- Ownership and staff: Owned by Gary Green, with head coach Dominic Casciato. Home games were mainly at Werner Park in Papillion, Nebraska; two U.S. Open Cup matches were played at Caniglia Field (University of Nebraska at Omaha).
- Results: USL League One regular season finish – 1st place (3rd Players’ Shield). USL League One Playoffs – champions (second playoff title). U.S. Open Cup – reached Round of 32. USL Cup – reached the semi-finals.
- Top scorer: Pedro Dolabella – 14 league goals (15 in all competitions).
- Attendance: Highest home crowd 5,849 (Nov. 17 vs SPO). Lowest home crowd 2,135 (May 1 vs NCO). Average home league attendance 3,397.
- Notable results: Biggest win – 4-0 on Oct. 2 vs SPO. Biggest defeat – 2-0 (three occasions).
- Stadium plans: On Jan. 25, the club announced plans to build a new soccer-specific stadium in downtown Omaha, aiming to move there by spring 2026.
- Player moves and tragedies: On July 20, Brazilian midfielder Victor “PC” Giro retired and joined the San Antonio FC academy as director/head coach of the U12 team. On Oct. 31, Haitian defender Mechack Jérôme and family were involved in a propane explosion at his home in Bellevue, Nebraska; Jérôme had played 28 games for Union Omaha. In response, the club and fans showed strong support.
- Honors and milestones: After a 3–2 road win against South Georgia Tormenta FC, Union Omaha secured the Players’ Shield for the third time in four seasons. The club defeated Spokane Velocity 3–0 in the final to win its second playoff championship, becoming the first team to do so. They reached the inaugural USL Cup semi-finals but lost to Northern Colorado Hailstorm, who went on to win the cup.
