FAW Oley
FAW Oley is a subcompact car produced by FAW Group under the Oley brand. It was sold in two body styles: a 4-door sedan and a 5-door hatchback. Production ran from 2011 to 2016, with assembly in Tianjin, China. The Oley is a front‑engine, front‑wheel‑drive vehicle in the B‑segment class. It uses a 1.5-liter CA4GA5 inline-4 petrol engine and offers either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Key dimensions include a wheelbase of 2,525 mm, a sedan length of 4,610 mm (hatchback is 4,200 mm), width of 1,660 mm, and height of 1,465 mm.
Overview
The Oley sedan was originally developed under the codename A130 and started as a subcompact called the B30 for the Bestune brand. It was built on a PQ32+ platform derived from the Volkswagen Jetta Mk2, developed by FAW-Volkswagen. The platform was seen as inexpensive and the design too radical for Bestune, which helped FAW create the Oley brand aimed at a younger audience. The Oley brand was unveiled in November 2011, and the first car, the Oley sedan, launched in China in March 2012 (production began on March 7, 2012). The GO Concept previewed the car at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show.
Powertrain and body
The Oley sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter CA4GA5 engine with about 102 hp and 135 Nm of torque. Transmission options are a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The hatchback, shown in 2013, shares the same interior and powertrain as the sedan.
FAW Oley EV
An electric version, the Oley EV, was launched in China in the second quarter of 2015. It uses an electric motor rated at 47 hp and is powered by a 21.1 kWh lithium‑ion battery. The Oley EV has an estimated range of 150 km and a top speed of 140 km/h. Acceleration is roughly 0–50 km/h in 6.8 seconds and 50–80 km/h in 4 seconds. It weighs about 1,250 kg, and charging to 80% takes around 48 minutes with a fast charger.
