Dove is an American chocolate brand owned by Mars, Incorporated. It began in 1939 as Dove Candies & Ice Cream in Chicago, founded by Greek‑American Leo Stefanos. The name came from the original Dove shops, and in 1956 Stefanos created Dove ice cream bars, first sold only in Chicago. By 1984, orders spread nationwide after a big showcase, and Mars bought the company in 1986. Dove chocolate bars were first tested in the United States in 1991. In the United Kingdom, Dove was launched in 1960 under the Galaxy brand. In some markets, Dove products are sold as Galaxy. Dove-branded products have not been officially sold in Australia since the mid-2010s.

Dove makes many chocolates, including milk and dark chocolate, caramel, fruits and nuts, and varieties like Minstrels, Ripple, Amicelli, Duetto, Promises, Bubbles and Truffle. They also produce other chocolate treats such as ready-to-drink chocolate milk, hot chocolate powder, cakes and ice cream. Each Dove piece often has a message printed inside the foil wrapper.
