2012 Apia International Sydney
The 2012 Apia International Sydney was a joint ATP and WTA tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts at the NSW Tennis Centre in Sydney, Australia. It ran from 8 to 15 January 2012 and was the 120th edition of the event, part of the ATP World Tour 250 series and the WTA Premier tournaments.
Because of rain, the finals were moved from the evening of 14 January to the morning of 15 January, the day before the Australian Open began.
Winners:
- Men’s singles: Jarkko Nieminen defeated Julien Benneteau 6–2, 7–5
- Women’s singles: Victoria Azarenka defeated Li Na 6–2, 1–6, 6–3
- Men’s doubles: Bob Bryan / Mike Bryan defeated Matthew Ebden / Jarkko Nieminen 6–1, 6–4
- Women’s doubles: Květa Peschke / Katarina Srebotnik defeated Liezel Huber / Lisa Raymond 6–1, 4–6, [13–11]
