Dolna Mitropoliya Municipality is a municipality in Pleven Province in northern Bulgaria. It covers 674.81 square kilometers and had about 21,304 residents in December 2009. The administrative center is the town of Dolna Mitropoliya. The Danube River forms the northern border of the municipality. The Natura 2000 protected area called Reka Vit Special Protection Area, which covers 10,926 hectares, lies within its territory to protect birds. Since 1992, Dolna Mitropoliya Municipality has included the area of the former Podem municipality.
