Flesh and Blood is a collectible card game from Legend Story Studios (LSS) in Auckland, New Zealand. It was released on October 11, 2019. The game is designed for two or more players who each control a hero with equipment and abilities. The goal is to reduce the opponent’s hero life to zero. Each hero has intellect (how many cards you draw each turn) and life points. There are thirteen card types, including hero, weapon, equipment, action, attack, defense, instant, and reaction. Most cards go to a graveyard after use. Players build a 60–80 card deck with no more than three copies of any card name.

Two main formats are used: Blitz, which uses a faster version of each hero card, and Classic Constructed, which uses the standard card versions. World Premier events occur when a new set is released, helping players discover the new cards and play in a competitive environment.

Organized play is built around four competitive tiers. Tier 0 is Learn to Play, and Tier 1 includes Armory and Skirmish events held at local game stores with casual to competitive rules. Tier 2 includes Showdowns, Road to Nationals, and Pro Quest events. Tier 3 covers National Championships and Callings, open-entry tournaments. Tier 4 includes Pro Tours and the World Championship, held over a weekend with the World Championship as the top event. A big World Tour prize pool (US$2,000,000 in 2025) supports players worldwide, and winning events earns Living Legend points that can retire a hero card from official play.

Sets and distribution have evolved over time. The game used to release two editions per set: First Edition (collector-focused and often in cold foil) and Unlimited. Since the FAB 2.0 update, there is a single box model. Flesh and Blood products are sold globally, with decks manufactured in Belgium, Japan, and the United States. By 2025, National Championships were held in 47 countries, expanding the game’s international reach.

Reception has been positive, with comparisons to Magic: The Gathering but noted as easier to learn. ICv2 named it a top collectible game in 2021, and the game’s creators have received awards for brand storytelling and business growth in recent years.
