Argile Smith
Argile Asa Smith Jr. (born July 9, 1955) is an American pastor and university administrator. He earned a BA in Religion from William Carey College in 1977 and an M.Div. and Ph.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he later taught for 14 years. He was dean of Louisiana College in 2011 and served as interim president of Louisiana Christian University from August 2014 to April 2015, after Joe W. Aguillard, who became president emeritus for a year. In 2015, he was succeeded by Rick Brewer as president. He is married to Connie Kathleen Saucier Smith since 1975, has three children, and lives in Pineville, Louisiana.
