Chief Emmanuel Umunnakwe Ojinere (1961–2021) was a Nigerian businessman, engineer, and politician from Imo State. He was born in 1961 in Owerri Division, then part of the Eastern Region (today Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State). Ojinere gained prominence in Imo politics in 2007 when he joined the governorship race as a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2017 and was appointed Imo State Commissioner for Trade and Investment by Governor Rochas Okorocha, serving from December 4, 2017, to September 12, 2018. His role was later changed to Special Adviser on Small-Scale and Medium Enterprises. He also ran as the APC candidate for the Imo East senatorial seat in the 2019 elections. Ojinere died on January 18, 2021, at the age of 59 or 60.
