Humayun Reza
Humayun Reza (born 6 December 1948) is an Indian politician from West Bengal. He served as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Suti constituency in Murshidabad district from 2016 to 2021, representing the Indian National Congress. He comes from Daharpar, Mahendrapur village in Murshidabad and is the son of Lutfal Haque. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968 from a Calcutta University–affiliated college, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of North Bengal in 1979.
In the 2016 election, Reza won the Suti seat with 84,017 votes, defeating Emani Biswas of the All India Trinamool Congress by 3,950 votes. He lost the seat in the 2021 election to Emani Biswas of the Trinamool Congress, finishing third behind BJP candidate Kaushik Das.
Before the 2021 election, some local Congress workers protested against his renomination for Suti. He has no criminal cases against him, and his assets were listed as under ₹1 crore by the Election Commission of India.
