Omar Larrosa
Omar Rubén Larrosa (born 18 November 1947 in Lanús, Buenos Aires) is a former Argentine footballer who played as a midfielder. His club career began at Boca Juniors (1967–1969), then Argentinos Juniors (1969), before returning to Boca. He also played for Club Pachuca in Mexico and CSD Comunicaciones in Guatemala, and later for Huracán (1972–1976), Independiente (1977–1980), Vélez Sársfield (1980) and San Lorenzo (1981).
He earned 11 caps for Argentina between 1977 and 1978 and was part of the squad that won the 1978 FIFA World Cup. At club level, he won the Metropolitano with Huracán in 1973 and back-to-back Nacional titles with Independiente. He retired after San Lorenzo were relegated in 1981 at age 34.
After his playing career, Larrosa pursued coaching, including a spell as Selangor’s manager in 2004 and later serving as Boca Juniors’ assistant coach from 2010. In the 1978 World Cup final against the Netherlands, he came on as a 65th-minute substitute and Argentina won 3–1 after extra time.
