Alexander Park (Russian: Александровский парк) is a large park near Saint Petersburg, in Tsarskoye Selo. It lies to the west of the Catherine Palace and covers about 200 hectares. The park is split into four square areas with a geometric layout. The Alexander Palace, built from 1792 to 1796 for the future Emperor Alexander I, stands inside the park. The park was developed in the 1740s, but the garden in front of the palace became almost overgrown during Empress Elizabeth’s reign (1741–1762).
