Cymer Afan Comprehensive School was a mixed secondary school for students aged 11–16 in Cymmer, Neath Port Talbot, Wales. It opened in 1932, had a capacity of 640 pupils, but only 229 were enrolled by October 2018.

Plans to close were announced in November 2017. A public consultation ran from 11 December 2017 to 26 January 2018. The reasons given included a maintenance bill of about £3 million, high expenditure per pupil, and the large gap between capacity and actual pupil numbers.

In June 2018, the council voted to close the school. A group of parents opposed the plan and sought a judicial review under the Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015. The High Court dismissed the challenge in March 2019, and a second judge also dismissed it.

There were 433 written objections and a 2,007-signature petition. The chair of governors opposed the closure, calling it a devastating blow; the National Education Union criticized the process for not safeguarding staff jobs and not adequately consulting. The council leader said he was confident in the consultation.

The school closed in July 2019. An asbestos report led to demolition plans. Most pupils transferred to Ysgol Cwm Brombil, a new school in Margam.
