Bucculatrix simulans is a small moth in the family Bucculatricidae. It is found in North America, from Texas to Iowa and Ohio. The species was described in 1963 by Annette Frances Braun. The wingspan is about 9.5 to 10 millimeters. Adults are on the wing from January to July. The larvae feed on sunflowers (Helianthus species) and create a stem gall. Pupation occurs in a white to light gray cocoon.
