Cycloctenus nelsonensis

Cycloctenus nelsonensis is a spider species native to New Zealand. It belongs to the Cycloctenidae family and was described in 1979 by Ray Forster from both male and female specimens.

The holotype, the specimen used to describe the species, is kept at the Te Papa museum in Wellington (registration AS.000076).

Males are about 9.9 mm long and females about 12.9 mm. The spider has brown and black markings across its body.

This species is only known from the Nelson and Marlborough regions of New Zealand.

Conservation status: Not Threatened under the New Zealand Threat Classification System (NZTCS).
