Cosmophasis gemmans
Cosmophasis gemmans is a species of jumping spider in the Salticidae family. Only the male of this species has been described. The type specimen is kept at the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Genova in Genoa, Italy. These spiders are found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
The species was first described in 1890 by Tamerlan Thorell as Maevia gemmans, based on a male collected on Sumatra by Odoardo Beccari. In 1955, Carl Roewer moved it to the genus Cosmophasis, giving it the current name Cosmophasis gemmans.
