Tagiri Station
Tagiri Station (田切駅, Tagiri-eki) is a small railway station on the Iida Line in the town of Iijima, Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). The station is 160.1 kilometers from Toyohashi Station, the line’s starting point.
The station has one ground-level side platform serving a single bi-directional track. There is no station building—only a shelter on the platform. The station is unattended.
History: Tagiri Station opened on February 11, 1918. In June 1984, it was relocated about 150 meters south of its original location because the old site was on a curve. With the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987, the station came under the control of JR Central.
Passenger use: In fiscal year 2016, an average of 38 passengers boarded daily.
